Team News And Tournament So Far

Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow Super Giants threatened to become the first team in IPL 2022 to defend a target, but late blows from Gujarat Titans batsmen David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, ensured that the clash of the new teams was won by Gujarat Titans in their first match.

They lost as a result of some strange captaincy from KL Rahul, who stuck with spinners against two aggressive hitters despite the fact that it made it harder for the slower bowlers. Mohammed Shami, the man of the match, took three wickets in three overs with the new ball. Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni struck half-centuries to bail Lucknow Super Giants out of trouble and give their bowlers something to work with after KL Rahul was dismissed for a golden duck.

LSG bounced back brilliantly in their second and third matches however, and earned their first ever IPL wins with a solid performance overall.

Lucknow's primary fast bowler recruit Mark Wood was hurt during England's current tour of the West Indies and has been ruled out of the IPL 2022. Andrew Tye has been named as his formal successor. Marcus Stoinis, the all-rounder for the Lucknow Super Giants, was in Pakistan for the white-ball series against the hosts but is now back.

LSG defeated DC in a crunch match with an assured performance, and are battling for top spot in the IPL standings with 4 wins in 6 matches, after losing their  match against Rajasthan by a very narrow margin of only 3 runs, before recovering brilliantly to convincingly defeat Mumbai Indians.

LSG Probable XI : KL Rahul (captain), Quinton de Kock (wicketkeeper), Evin Lewis, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Andrew Tye, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB started the season poory despite posting a mammoth score against Punjab Kings. However, their bowling was torn apart by the PBKS batsmen and they chased down 206. In the second game, RCB almost suffered a humiliating defeat as they struggled to chase down a very low score set up by KKR, but eventually managed to record their first win of the season.

Glenn Maxwell, who recently married, will miss at least the first two games of Royal Challengers Bangalore, while his Australian counterparts Josh Hazlewood and Jason Behrendorff will miss the first three games since the Australian players would not be available until April 6.

RCB have managed to find the right balance in recent times, and managed convinving wins over rivals MI and DC in their previous two matches, to make it 4 wins in 6 matches, tied on points with LSG.

RCB Probable XI - Faf du Plessis (c), Virat Kohli, Anuj Rawat, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey, Harshal Patel, Siddharth Kaul, Mohammed Siraj.

Betting Preview, Picks And Prediction

To Win The Match

RCB are the favourites to win this match at 1.80, due to their sudden upturn in form and consecutive victories over MI and DC. The leam looks balanced and up for it. LSG are playing very well too and have odds of 2.00 in this crunch encounter.

Top Team Batsman

KL Rahul and Quinton De Kock are the expected favourites from LSG to be the top scorers, with odds of 2.87 and 3.60 respectively. Rahul would like to follow up on his stunning century in the previous match. The versatile Manish Pandey is 6.00 to be LSG’s top scorer in this match.

RCB opener FAF Du Plessis is unsurprisingly the favourite to be their top batsman in this match with odds of 2.87. He played a brilliant innings in the first game but it went in vain eventually. His opening partner Virat Kohli has odds of 3.00. Dinesh Karthik has odds of 6.00 to be the top batsman.

Highest Opening Partnership

LSG are favourites at 1.80 to have the highest opening partnership in this match. This is primarily because they have one of the best opening pairs in De Kock and Rahul who have accumulated several top partnerships already.

Top Team Bowler

Former Delhi Capitals’ pacer Avesh Khan is the LSG favourite to be the top bowler, at 3.50. He is followed by Dushmanta Chameera at 3.75.

Last year’s top wicket-taker Harshal Patel is RCB’s favourite to be the top team bowler at 3.50, followed by Hasaranga at 4.00.

Total Runs In The Match

Odds of there being more than 339.5 runs in this match are 1.83, as per Dafabet. This seems highly achievable as both these teams have some brilliant batsmen and have scored plenty of runs this season.

Individual Player Betting

  • Du Plessis to score more than 29.5 runs against his former team has odds of 1.81, and it’s a solid bet as he is one of the best batsmen in the league and also in form. KL Rahul to score more than 29.5 runs has odds of 1.83, which is arguably the safest bet in this match as he is LSG’s primary batsman and is coming back off a century against MI.

  • RCB to hit the most sixes has odds of 1.95, which can be very tempting with Du Plessis, Kohli, Karthik and Rutherford all capable of clearing the boundary. LSG to hit the most sixes has odds of 2.05 , which is very tempting as they have several players who can clear the ropes. KL Rahul, De Kock, Jason Holder and Krunal Pandya all are known for their big hits
  • Avesh Khan to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.50, while Hasaranga to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.10.
