The Inaugural English Premier League Season

The first English Premier League Season lasted from August 15 1992 to May 11 1993. The League consisted of 22 football clubs in total. The League also enclosed a £305 million deal with the British broadcasting company Sky.

The success of the EPL

EPL managed to garner over 3.2 billion viewers during the 2019-2020 season. Statistically, it surged around 6 per cent as compared to the previous seasons. The EPL Playing Format

As already mentioned before, the English Premier League comprises a total of twenty clubs. It generally occurs from August to May. A double round-robin system is followed. This implies that every club competes against the other club two times. The two matches occur at the clubs' as well as their opponents' home stadium. The clubs that manage to win get three points. while they get 1 point for a draw match.

The league system also follows the promotion and relegation system. It implies that around three teams are upgraded to the Premier League or downgraded to the lower League.
