History

DC and RCB have a fierce long term rivalry, with players such as Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik playing for both these franchises. Both these teams have never won the IPL title, yet have reached the final stages many times. In 26 matches between both these sides, 1 was a no-result while RCB has won 15 matches and DC have won only 10.

Team News And Tournament So Far

Delhi Capitals

In their first IPL encounter, Delhi Capitals defeated Mumbai Indians by four wickets. Lalit Yadav of the Delhi Capitals hit 48 not out from 38 balls down the order as DC chased down the total of 178 with 10 balls to spare.

Axar Patel produced a 17-ball 38 not out, and opener Prithvi Shaw added 38 as well. Basil Thampi grabbed three wickets for 35 runs for MI. Earlier, Ishan Kishan produced an unbeaten 81, but it all went in vain eventually. Kuldeep Yadav grabbed 3/18 to limit Mumbai to 177/5 in 20 overs, and Delhi Capitals quickly chased it down, reaching 179/6 in 18.2 overs.

In the second game, a valiant innings by captain Rishabh Pant went in vain, as DC collapsed to a 14 run defeat against Gujarat Titans. This leaves DC languishing in the middle of the table.

The Delhi Capitals may suffer a setback if Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is unable to play due to a hip ailment. Mitchell Marsh was scheduled to become eligible for the franchise on April 6. The injury to the all-rounder is yet another setback for the Delhi Capitals, who may also be without South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje for much of the season.

During the match against Mumbai, Delhi only used two of their seven international players, Tim Seifert and Rovman Powell. However, Mitchell Marsh's Australian teammate David Warner finally made his comeback for the Delhi franchise after a gap of 10 years against Lucknow Super Giants, though that ended in disappointment as he didn't play a good innings and DC lost again.

DC recovered brilliantly in their previous match against Kolkata Knight Riders, as they posted a mammoth total of 215, with brilliant half centuries from both Shaw and Warner.

Delhi Capitals Probable XI: Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (captain/wicketkeeper), Rovman Powell, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Mustafizur Rahman.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB started the season poory despite posting a mammoth score against Punjab Kings. However, their bowling was torn apart by the PBKS batsmen and they chased down 206. In the second game, RCB almost suffered a humiliating defeat as they struggled to chase down a very low score set up by KKR, but eventually managed to record their first win of the season.

Glenn Maxwell, who recently married, will miss at least the first two games of Royal Challengers Bangalore, while his Australian counterparts Josh Hazlewood and Jason Behrendorff will miss the first three games since the Australian players would not be available until April 6.

RCB have managed to find the right balance in recent times, and managed a convinving win over rivals MI in the previous match, to move in to the top 4.

RCB Probable XI - Faf du Plessis (c), Virat Kohli, Anuj Rawat, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey, Harshal Patel, Siddharth Kaul, Mohammed Siraj.

Betting Preview, Picks And Prediction

To Win The Match

Both these teams have equal odds of 1.90 to win this match. DC have won 2 of their 4 matches, while RCB have won 3 of their 5 matches so far, and both these teams are in equally good form of late.

Top Team Batsman

The Delhi Capitals top order is littered with talent, and the new favourite to be the top scorer is undoubtedly the returning David Warner at 3.25, followed by their captain Rishabh Pant at 3.50, while opener Prithvi Shaw has odds of 3.60, which is attractice as he is in form.

RCB opener FAF Du Plessis is unsurprisingly the favourite to be their top batsman in this match with odds of 2.87. He played a brilliant innings in the first game but it went in vain eventually. His opening partner Virat Kohli has odds of 3.00. Dinesh Karthik has odds of 6.00 to be the top batsman.

Highest Opening Partnership

DC are favourites at 1.80 to have the highest opening partnership in this match. This is primarily because they have one of the best opening pairs in Warner and Shaw, who have accumulated two back-to-back 50 partnerships already.

Top Team Bowler

Mustafizur Rahman is unsurprisingly one of the favourites to be the top bowler for the Capitals at 3.75, while the experienced Shardul Thakur also has odds of 3.75. The returning Nortje, another big name, has odds of 4.00 after a disaappointing performance in the previous game where he was banned from completing his over after 2 full tosses.

Last year’s top wicket-taker Harshal Patel is RCB’s favourite to be the top team bowler at 3.50, followed by Hasaranga at 4.00.

Total Runs In The Match

Odds of there being more than 339.5 runs in this match are 1.83, as per Dafabet. This seems highly achievable as both these teams have some brilliant batsmen and have scored plenty of runs this season.

Individual Player Betting

  • Du Plessis to score more than 29.5 runs against his former team has odds of 1.81, and it’s a solid bet as he is one of the best batsmen in the league and also in form. Prithvi Shaw to score more than 24.5 runs has odds of 1.83 , which is a tempting bet as he is in good form and gave a good start in the previous match.

  • RCB to hit the most sixes has odds of 1.80, which can be very tempting with Du Plessis, Kohli, Karthik and Rutherford all capable of clearing the boundary. Delhi have decent odds in this department with David Warner back, at 2.35.
  • Mustafizur to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.25, while Hasaranga to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.10.
