Axar Patel produced a 17-ball 38 not out, and opener Prithvi Shaw added 38 as well. Basil Thampi grabbed three wickets for 35 runs for MI. Kuldeep Yadav grabbed 3/18 to limit Mumbai to 177/5 in 20 overs, and Delhi Capitals quickly chased it down, reaching 179/6 in 18.2 overs.
In the second game, a valiant innings by captain Rishabh Pant went in vain, as DC collapsed to a 14 run defeat against Gujarat Titans. This leaves DC languishing in the middle of the table.
The Delhi Capitals may suffer a setback if Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is unable to play due to a hip ailment. Mitchell Marsh was scheduled to become eligible for the franchise on April 6. The injury to the all-rounder is yet another setback for the Delhi Capitals, who may also be without South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje for much of the season.
