IPL 2021 Winner Prediction and Best Betting Tips

IPL 2021 Winner Prediction

The IPL 2021 began in March 2021 amidst great fanfare in India. People were excited to see their beloved league return just 4 months after a stunning season in UAE. The season began with huge optimism and some brilliantly contested matches in the beginning, however, the dark clouds of the pandemic soon hovered over the Indian skies again. The situation was already bad before the tournament began, but the organizers guaranteed a secure bubble for the players.

However, eventually a few groundsmen and then some players started testing positive for the virus, and the league was subsequently suspended for now. The league is now expected to resume from the halfway stage with the remaining matches sometime later this year. Let’s take a look at our favourites to win the IPL 2021 title, with odds provided by Casumo

IPL 2021 Winner Betting Tips: Chennai Super Kings to win the IPL 2021
Betting Odds 3.30 @ Casumo

Mumbai Indians won a record 5th IPL title last time around, beating first-time finalists Delhi Capitals in the final to retain their crown, after beating CSK in the 2019 final as well. They were the undisputed favourites to win an unprecedented 3rd consecutive IPL title before the tournament began, with odds of just 3.50 as per Casumo. However, their season seems to be on a downward spiral with 4 crushing defeats already.

Our primal IPL 2021 Winner Prediction was that it would be the Delhi Capitals that will win their first ever title, as they were the second favourites at 6.50. Though the Capitals are now the favourites to win the title at 2.50, we are convinced that it would be a better bet to back the Chennai Super Kings to make a grand comeback and win their 4th IPL title. CSK to win has odds of 3.30.

Let’s take a look at why we our final IPL 2021 Winner Prediction is that MS Dhoni’s CSK can make a grand comeback and win the IPL again, with odds provided by Casumo Sport India.

Chennai Super Kings IPL 2021 Performance So Far

IPL 2021 Winner Prediction

CSK endured one of their most disappointing IPL seasons in history last year, when they failed to qualify for the play-offs, an extremely rare occurrence. The team was heavily criticized for its ageing players and outdated ideas. They then got to work and refreshed the squad, keeping some experienced heads while adding some young blood as well to mix things up. The franchise did very well in the auctions, and CSK were expected to improve by a lot compared to last year.

CSK started the season with a narrow defeat to current favourites Delhi Capitals, where they set a challenging target of 188, which was chased down by DC. However, the match saw some inspiring batting performances from veterans Suresh Raina and Moeen Ali, along with youngster Sam Curran. This gave the team enough hope for the next few games.

Following that defeat, CSK went on a remarkable 5 match winning run, hitting top gear this season. South African opener FAF Du Plessis was at his absolute best, with 3 half centuries leading the way for the franchise, as he emerged as one of the tournament’s top scorers at the halfway stage. He was ably supported by the likes of Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Squad Information and Statistics That Back Our IPL 2021 Winner Prediction

Chennai Super Kings have traditionally been one of the strongest sides in the league, however, after a disappointing season last year, changes were required. The purchases of Moeen Ali and Krishnappa Gowtham were crucial for CSK in the auctions.

Batting

CSK have a very solid top order. With FAF Du Plessis in the form of his life, ably supported by newcomer Ruturaj Gaekwad, CSK have got a lot of great starts this season. The opening pair is then followed by Suresh Raina, and Ambati Rayudu, both brilliant Indian batting talents. Then comes the captain MS Dhoni, followed by all-rounders Moeen Ali, Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja. This ensures the batting line up is very deep. Even Shardul Thakur can bat a bit !

Bowling

CSK has a fairly balanced bowling line up, with plenty of all-rounders to make up the numbers. The Indian pace bowling pair of Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar are quite prolific, supported by Sam Curran and Ngidi, with the spin of Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja as added options.

Other Contenders

Mumbai Indians – The 5-time winners were initially the undisputed favourites to retain their title for the 3rd time in a row, with odds of 3.50 according to Casumo.

MI have the most balanced team in IPL history, a team full of explosive all-rounders and dependable batsman, complemented by the best bowling pair in the league i.e. Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav constitute a formidable top order, followed by the Pandya brothers and the mighty Keiron Pollard in the middle order.

Despite all that, they have endured a miserable season so far, but we do expect them to make a comeback. They currently have odds of 6.50.

Royal Challengers Bangalore – One of only 3 teams that have never won the IPL title, RCB are still perennial favourites to win the title, due to the sheer talent at their disposal.

Captain Virat Kohli would be desperate to lift his maiden IPL title after years of frustration, and he will be ably supported by the likes of AB De Villiers and Devdutt Padikkal with the bat, along with big signing Glenn Maxwell.

The bowling department is handled by leggie pair Yuzvendra Chahal and Adam Zampa, and Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj. RCB are among the top 3 teams so far, with some impressive performances all around.
