Delhi Capitals’ big win
Prithvi Shaw and Khaleel Ahmed were stunning on Sunday evening. Shaw chased the KKR bowler early on and played bravely without fear in the powerplay. The 22-year-old cricketer is at the top of his game to help DC get off to a brilliant start.
Shaw and Warner teamed up to power Delhi up and they slammed 50 apiece. The fifties of him and Warner set up a big win for the Capitals as they ended up racking up 215 runs at the bard in 20 overs. After Shaw left in the 9th minute, DC captain Rishabh Pant scored 27 of 14 balls and brought the momentum.
The brilliant performances of Shardul Thakur (29 off 11) and Axar Patel (22 off 14) were also outstanding in the final round. The DC bowler use an early run-chase as Khaleel Ahmed struck twice in a row to eliminate Venkatesh Iyer (18) and Ajinkya Rahane (8).
After that, Kuldeep Yadav ran and took wickets from Shreyas Iyer, Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins, and Umesh Yadav. He finished with a fine 4/35 in 4 overs, while Khaleel got three wickets with 25 runs from four overs. Khaleel subsequently fired Iyer, Rahane, and Sam Billings to give DC the win. Meanwhile, Kolkata skipper Shreyas Iyer has scored the most goals for the team with 54 from 33 balls. Iyer also added 69 runs in the third wicket with Nitish Rana.
With this win, the Capitals have avenged their two-game losing streak two matches to bounce back to winning ways. This is their second win in four games in the IPL this season. KKR has also suffered two defeats from their initial five matches in the IPL.
