CSK vs RCB
Initially, it was RCB captain Faf du Plessis who won the toss to put CSK first. The decision seemed in favorable to RCB until Dube hit the pitch. Previously, CSK only did 36 runs from the powerplay. The Chennai-based franchise team also lost Ruturaj Gaikwad and Mooen Ali wickets. But then Dube came up with an aggressive pattern of play and faced the opponent bravely.
The Mumbai born cricketer has no mercy and targets the three RCB spinners. First, he hit Glenn Maxwell. Next, the 28-year-old cricketer took 13 from Wanindu Hasaranga and then hit Shahbaz Ahmed. Meanwhile, while watching Dube who managed to get rid of the RCB bowlers, Robin Uthappa didn't want to be left behind to take part.
The 36-year-old cricketer fought hard against Maxwell and took three sixes in one between a wide mid-wicket and long-on. He made sure that he made the most of this opportunity. Uthappa and Dube were able to score 156 run-in overs between 11-20. This is the 3rd most in a phase in IPL history.
“It was about keeping it simple, nothing special. Hitting in straight lines. I am used to this ground. Today it is dry and no dew yet,” Dube said to the broadcaster. CSK spinner, captain Ravindra Jadeja and off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana also managed to take back wickets.
Trying to catch up with the score, Royal Challengers Bangalore hit 193 for nines to leave winners CSK with 23 runs. Captains Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell couldn't do much about CSK's dominance. Meanwhile, finisher Dinesh Karthik has put in his efforts in the pursuit of RCB but the target is too big.
Faf du Plessis' strategy to push his spinning overs in the middle of the half actually backfired for his team. This is where the duo Uthappa and Dube seize the momentum and nothing can stop the two. Finally, they both managed to bring CSK to victory.
