The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have signed Andrew Tye to replace Mark Wood, who is out due to an elbow injury. Wood suffered the injury during England's opening Test against the West Indies earlier this month. Wood had to travel back from the Caribbean to get treatment right away.
During the first Test against the West Indies, the English pacer suffered an elbow injury and had to walk out of the stadium clutching his arm in horrible pain, after eventually being ruled out of the series.
According to ESPN Cricinfo, the Super Giants received a notification from ECB on Wood being sidelined of bowling currently. It is unfortunate since LSG had splashed their cash to acquire the 32-year-old for an amount of Rs 7.2 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction.
It was previously stated that Taskin Ahmed was interested in joining the Lucknow Super Giants, but the Bangladesh Cricket Board refused to issue him a NOC because they had crucial series scheduled.
