IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 61 runs

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) were dazzling with attacking energy from the start when they took on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 5th game of IPL 2022 at Mumbai Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Tuesday. The Rajasthan Royals put in a complete performance and hit 61 runs to beat their opponents in their first game in the IPL of the season.

In this match, the Rajasthan team performed excellently by getting 3 early goals and winning the match on the spot. Rajasthan managed to record 210/6 in 20 overs thanks to the stroke of captain Sanju Samson who scored the most goals with 55 runs from 27 balls.

Devdutt Padikkal hit 41 in 29 deliveries after Jos Buttler's 28-ball 35 opener. Rajashtan's game was also more promising as Prasidh Krishna and Yuzvendra Chahal managed to put in a superb performance and play dominantly throughout the match. In the beginning, Prasidh Krishna and Trent Boult supported him well. In the middle of the over, Yuzvendra Chahal delivered 3 more strokes.

RR vs SRH

With RR's stunning performances continuing to attack the SRH team, the Sunrisers Hyderabad players couldn't seem to keep up. None of the top hitters in the Hyderabad team have been able to last long on the pitch. In the first half of the opening match, SRH had a bad start and failed to pose a threat to RR They instead slipped to 9/3 and followed 29/4.

Chasing 211, SRH started to panic and saw Prasidh Krishna and Trent Boult join forces to rock the top spot. At first, SRH thought they would get off to an impressive start, but in the end, as the game progressed things didn't go their way.

Rahul Tripathi and Nicholas Pooran failed to open their innings in this match. Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna took part in Sunriser's pursuit by leaving them in tatters on 14/3 after six overs. Prasidh then knocked out Rahul Tripathi in the game with a perfect ball which went up after throwing.

Umran Malik dismissed Buttler with 35 of 28 balls. Meanwhile, Samson was dismissed at 55(27) by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Then it was Shimron Hetmyer who took over and played 32 late cameos in 13 deliveries. Shimron contributed and helped his team to a 210/6. Meanwhile, SRH could only get 149/7 in their 20 overs.

However, SRH still got 57 from Aiden Markram and Washington Sundar's 14-ball 40, the latter making up for the willow a bit. The bowlers show was led by leg-spinner Yuzvedra Chahal (22/3 in 4 over), then got the job done for RR. Finally, Rajasthan was able to achieve an easy victory because of the very solid teamwork in this match.

Furthermore, the franchise cricket team based in Jaipur, Rajasthan will return to play in the IPL 2022 on April 2. The team will face the Mumbai Indians at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. In the next match, this team will still be strengthened with Ashwin and Chahal as their front-line spinners. Meanwhile, for bowling attacks, they still rely on Boult and Krishna.
