IPL 2022: Umran Malik records fastest delivery as SRH defeat Gujarat Titans

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) successfully beat the tough Gujarat Titans (GT) by eight wickets at DY Patil Stadium, Monday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match. However, the victory that Sunrisers got was not just an ordinary victory. There's an incredible scene in that SRH versus GT match, the Hyderabad star Umran Malik performed excellently and was top of the line this season.

Against Gujarat, the 22-year-old was bowling incredibly and caught everyone's attention. Malik managed to record a time of 153 km/h and became the fastest bowler in IPL 2022. His appearance shocked the public and made a scene on Twitter.

In the IPL last season, in the match against the Chennai Super Kings, the fast bowler from Jammu and Kashmir hit the fastest stroke in the IPL with a record of 153.1 km/h. While against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021, Malik also surprised everyone by hitting a speed of 152.95 km/h.

A part of the Hyderabad net bowler squad, the man who comes from a humble family started playing cricket at a young age. He then pursued his career in the world of cricket professionally and has recorded many achievements. Malik is very lucky because his family, namely his father, mother, and older sister are always there for him.

SRH vs GT

Hyderabad managed to beat the Titans and clinched their second win in a row thanks to the hard work of the entire team on the field. The SRH bowlers worked hard and capped GT 162 to seven. Previously, it was the Titans who got to hit first, getting off to a promising start by getting 51 for two on PowerPlay. Despite getting pretty decent results, they continued to struggle and accelerate so as not to fall behind in the second half of the round.

Chasing 163, SRH took the win by ensuring that they didn't lose the early wickets. Luckily, Abhishek Sharma and Williamson's openers could ensure that for the first four overs. Williamson pulled on Mohammed Shami for four and six in the fifth set. The Sunrisers captain took on the bowlers by hitting Pandya for two sixes.

Williamson also scored a promising half-century to help the team reach the total with five balls to spare. Captain Williamson's disciplined bowling efforts (57, 46b, 2x4, 4x6) helped SRH beat GT. Having finished top this season, Malik went into bowling for Hyderabad in the seventh round. His game immediately surprised the all-rounder of India, Hardik Pandya. However, Pandya also surprised Malik with his punch.

Pandya's performance was quite surprised with a straight shot from Natarajan and then hitting Malik for four fours in a row—through the cover and through the midwicket. On the bowling side, the partnership between Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan got two wickets each. While Marco Jansen and Umran Malik won one each.

Nicholas Pooran then took control of the half with a quick shot and an unbeaten 34 (18b, 2x4, 2x6). Pooran helped the Hyderabad-based franchise team to their second straight win.
