IPL 2022: Virat Kohli prepares as RCB to face Rajasthan Royals

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will soon face the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in match 13 of IPL 2022 at Wankhede Stadium Mumbai, Tuesday. RCB, which had previously competed twice, managed to pocket one win and one defeat. This became the initial match for the team under the new leadership of Faf du Plessis to formulate the next strategy before facing RR.

Meanwhile, RR led by Sanju Samson has yet to taste defeat in their two matches so far. Because of this victory, Rajasthan is at the top of the standings. However, RCB has a slight advantage against RR as it has a better head-to-head record.

All attention will be on former Bangalore captain Virat Kohli in the match against the Royals in IPL 2022. RR certainly does not want to lose just like that and will build a promising game this season. Previously both teams had good records in the IPL. RCB has a 12-10 record in wins over RR in the IPL and RCB has beaten RR in 2020.

Royal Challengers Bangalore previously had to suffer a defeat in the first match against the Punjab Kings. In that match, they could not maintain 205 runs in 20 overs. However, they managed to win in their next match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. But of course, this victory they got with difficulty because they almost fell behind the score.

While the Rajashtan Royals have won both matches so far and are top of the points table with a good net run rate. The Royals started their IPL season with a win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad and then they managed to beat the Mumbai Indians. With this victory, they are now in a leading position in the IPL 2022 temporary points table.

Key Player

RCB will continue to rely on Kohli in the 2022 IPL season to overcome Rajashtan's bowling attack. When looking at the previous 24 matches against the Royals, Kohli was able to score 579 runs with an average of 30.47.

While on the side of the Royals, Jos Buttler remains reliable as an opener because he can hit any attack. Even so, he needs the support of fellow openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal. Previously Buttler had recorded 228 runs in 9 innings against RCB.

In the next match, skipper Faf du Plessis hopes his team can build on an outstanding performance and continue to get consistent wins. By looking at the previous RCB team's performance, this South African cricketer doesn't seem like he's going to have much to do with his game combination against the Royals.

Meanwhile, it is planned that RCB will also be strengthened by Glenn Maxwell who will soon join the team. However, the 33-year-old is set to miss RCB's third game against Rajasthan. If Maxwell manages to join the team, the presence of the Australian cricket star will certainly be a new force for RCB. His off-spinning ability is an important asset to the team.
