Team News And Tournament So Far

Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals' bowling attack is headed by Prasidh Krishna, who rattled the SRH top order in the first, including removing skipper Kane Williamson for 2 runs, limited Sunrisers Hyderabad to just 149-7 despite Aiden Markram's unbeaten 57, in their first match. Yuzvendra Chahal claimed three wickets to achieve 250 wickets in T20 matches, while Trent Bowler took two.

Sanju Samson, RR's brilliant keeper-batsman, was named the Man Of The Match after smashing three fours and five sixes in his 27-ball blitz, hitting 55 and putting on a crucial 73-run partnership with Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 41. Shimron Hetmyer of the West Indies struck 32 off 13 balls and blasted two sixes to push the Royals' total above 200 after being put in to bat first. The Royals ended up with an emphatic 61 run victory.

Rajasthan Royals would have to select between Kiwi James Neesham and Australian Nathan Coulter-Nile against MI, with Jos Buttler, Trent Boult, and Shimron Hetmyer filling the remaining three positions, but they may field an unchanged XI after defeating SRH and MI, despite losing their previous game to RCB. In case of an injury, Rajasthan may also field one out of Navdeep Saini, KC Cariappa, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Karun Nair, Rassie van der Dussen, Daryl Mitchell, or Obed McCoy.

The Royal have won 3 of their 4 matches, and are currently top of the points table.

Rajasthan Royals Probable XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler (wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, James Neesham, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna.

Gujarat Titans

The Gujarat Titans, the other new IPL 2022 team, have also done well to build a formidable squad. The most notable acquisition for the Gujarat franchise for their first IPL season was Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan, arguably the best T20I bowler in the world, who has left Sunrisers Hyderabad to spearhead the Titans’ bowling attack, which also includes Indian pacer Mohammed Shami and Kiwi pacer Lockie Ferguson.

In contrast, England's white-ball specialist opener Jason Roy's departure from the IPL 2022 prompted the Gujarat Titans to sign another Afghanistan star, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, as his replacement, while all-rounders Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar, and Rahul Tewatia give balance to the side.

In Gujarat Titan’s first match against Lucknow Super Giants, veteran pacer Mohammed Shami (3/25) bowled a blazing opening spell that knocked the wind out of the Lucknow Super Giants' top order before Deepak Hooda (55 off 41 balls) and Ayush Badoni (54 off 41 balls) hit fifties to help Lucknow score 158 for six.

The Gujarat Titans were then led over the line by skipper Hardik Pandya (33), all-rounder Rahul Tewatia (40 not out), Matthew Wade (30), and David Miller (30), for a stunning victory in their first ever IPL match. Though they lost their second match, GT bounced back brilliantly to defeat the Delhi Capitals in their third match for 3 wins in 3 matches. GT also have 3 wins in 4 matches and this is truly a top of the table clash.

Gujarat Titans probable playing XI : Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade, Vijay Shankar, Abhinav Manohar, Hardik Pandya (capt), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Varun Aaron, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami.

Betting Preview, Picks And Prediction

To Win The Match

The Gujarat Titans have odds of 2.00 to win this match, which could be quite tempting as they looked really solid in their first 3 games and only narrowly lost the 4th. RR are on top of the league table however, and are slight favourites at 1.85 to win this match as per Dafabet.

Top Team Batsman

The Gujarat Titans have many solid batsmen up the order as well, with Shubhman Gill the favourite to be the top scorer at 3.25 after his stunning innings in the previous 2 matches, followed by fellow opener Mathew Wade at 4.00.

Sanju Samson was on fire in the first game and is again one of the favourites to be RR’s top scorer in this match, as he is widely considered to be their most consistent batsman and has odds of 3.75. Opener Jos Buttler, who smashed a brilliant half century in the first game and then a stunning century in the second match, is the clear favourite at 3.00..

Highest Opening Partnership

Gujarat Titans have odds of 1.90 to have the highest opening partnership as they have Mathew Wade and Shubhman Gill as their openers, and Gill has been the most in form opener in the league so far. Buttler and Jaiswal have formed a top partnership and are favourites at 1.80.

Top Team Bowler

Rashid Khan is the clear favourite from GT to be their top bowler with odds of 3.75, while Lockie Ferguson had a great outing in the previous match and also has odds of 3.75.

Trent Boult is unsurprisingly one of the favourites to be the top bowler for the Royals at 3.75, while the prolific Yuzu Chahal also has odds of 3.75.

Total Runs In The Match

Odds of there being more than 341.5 runs in this match are 1.83, as per 10Cric. This seems highly achievable as both these teams have some brilliant batsmen and have scored plenty of runs this season.

Individual Player Betting

  • Mathew Wade to score more than 23.5 runs also has odds of 1.83, which can be a smart bet as he is a consistent opener. Jos Buttler to score more than 26.5 runs has odds of 1.83 , which is a tempting bet as he is their most consistent batsman.
  • While GT have players like Wade and Hardik Pandya who can hit big, and have odds of 1.90, RR to hit the most sixes also have the same odds, as Buttler, Padikkal, Samson and Hetmyer all are known for their big hits.
  • Rashid Khan to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.20, while Chahal to take 2 or more wickets has odds of 2.50.
