Rajasthan Royals’ new recruit right-arm fast bowler Navdeep Saini expressed his excitement of playing under the Royals banner and working with team skipper wicket-keeper, Sanju Samson after the franchise acquired him for ₹ 2.60 Crore in IPL auction back in February.

Each franchise has carried on with team preparation and welcoming international cricketers to each team camp as IPL 2022 is less than a week away. However, the same is inapplicable to the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings and its all-rounder English cricketer Moeen Ali.

Kuldeep Yadav, an Indian international cricketer playing for India as well as Uttar Pradesh in the domestic cricket scene, has been dropped from playing for Team India. The player also appears not to make an appearance with the Pradesh until June this year for the second run of the domestic season following team mismanagement and other issues per multiple reports. Yadav is a left-arm spinner who has been pulled out from Test matches and failed to make a cut in some of the competitions where he was initially supposed to participate. This series of unfortunate events had struck Yadav and his cricketing career simultaneously.

After signing batsman Jason Roy from the IPL 2022 Mega Auction recently, Gujarat Titans reportedly will be replacing the 31-year-old with Afghan cricketer Rahmanullah Gurbaz following Roy who had just pulled out from the IPL. The franchise would likely have Gurbaz instead of other players on board for the upcoming IPL 2022 replacing Roy considering Gurbaz’s stats and what the franchise could get from him.

The Indian Premier League 2022 concluded this year's edition of the mega auction on February 13. A total of 204 players were sold in the two-day event, including 66 overseas players. The auction recorded a total of INR 551.7 crore spent or roughly INR 2.7 crores per player in addition to INR 324.2 crores being spent to retain 33 players.

India is expected to host Sri Lanka for three T20Is and two Tests. The T20I series will start on February 24 at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Team India U19 captain Yash Dhull said that after defeating England by six wickets and claiming India's fifth world cup title, he and the squad would celebrate the triumph with some ice creams.

The Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction was concluded on Sunday. Many franchises made satisfying purchases, including the Delhi Capitals as claimed by coach Pravin Amre, who said that they "are quite pleased with our buys. We have a good bank of Indian fast bowlers," on Sunday. However, some players had to leave the auction venue disappointed. The most notable one is veteran spinner Amit Mishra, who went unsold in the two-day event.
