This performance blasted his name to the No. 1 position in the ICC Men's Test Player Rankings. Prior to the No. 1 position, the player with the nickname Sir Jadeja was ranked 54th on the ICC ranking. He moved up 17 places to No. 34th by scoring a 175. The all-rounder proceeded with adding nine wickets, taking the No. 1 position from Barbadians right-arm medium-fast bowler Jason Holder who had secured the No. 1 position since February last year.
