Virat Kohli plays poorly, dismissed on first ball during RCB vs LSG

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star, Virat Kohli, seems to have continuous bad luck in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022 edition. The fans were very disappointed with his poor performance in the Challengers match against the new franchise, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium, Tuesday.

The former RCB captain even only played very briefly against Lucknow. His performance made the fans shocked, hurt, and disappointed. During the match, KL Rahul who won the toss asked the Bangalore batsman to hit first. After being asked to hit first, Kohli walked out to hit after Anuj Rawat. However, he was immediately struck by Dushmantha Chameera.

Rahul's decision to go bowling first proved to be the right one. Because of that strategy, Chameera was able to pick up two wickets in two balls towards the end of the first half of the game. The two wickets include Rawat and Kohli. Meanwhile, it is with a heavy heart that Kohli had to return very quickly, without having time to open his account. Chameera hit hard and served outside.

Actually, Kohli could have left the ball, but instead, he unexpectedly swung his bat in that direction. Then, the ball went straight to the point where Lucknow all-rounder Deepak Hooda was standing. Of course, this was a golden opportunity for Hooda because he could take it very easily.

Kohli who realized that he had to get off the field, was visibly disappointed. As if he knew that bad luck continues to befall him in the IPL this season.

Fans reaction on Twitter

Kohli's underwhelming performance during the match left fans on social media very disappointed. Due to his disappointing performance in the match against the Super Giants, the batting maestro is now receiving backlash on Twitter. Angry and disillusioned fans have even suggested that the former Team India skipper does not deserve to be considered for the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup due to his disastrous performance.

Now, the 33-year-old cricketer is currently at his lowest performance. Many fans hate to see the poor game that he shows. In fact, the former RCB captain could easily score more than 200 runs in the competition. But right now Kohli is at his lowest point.

RCB vs LSG

Although Kohli's performance was very disappointing and far from his best, RCB captain Faf du Plessis moved quickly and was able to turn things around to finally lead the Challengers to victory in that match. In the decisive half, the South African cricketer's brilliant performance not only helped get RCB back on track but also lifted the spirits of the Challengers fans, most of whom came to the stadium wearing Virat Kohli's jerseys and numbers.

Du Plessis' performance could cure the disappointment of the fans who didn't expect a cricket superstar at Kohli's level to leave the ball first and in the first half, tragically. After the consistency of Kohli's performances that he has shown over the years, he is now in the midst of an abysmal run in the IPL this season. Luckily, du Plessis was able to build another round where RCB could appear dominant in the match and eventually lead them to victory.
