IPL 2022: MS Dhoni performs superbly as Chennai defeats Mumbai by 3 wickets

CSK star MS Dhoni was stunning and managed to finish the match perfectly as the Super Kings delivered the Mumbai Indians their seventh straight loss of the season. In India's Premier League match at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai on Thursday, Dhoni managed to score 16 runs from his last four deliveries to lead his franchise team to victory.

He managed to ensure the Indians' winless record continues in the IPL this season. CSK recorded a three-wicket win over MI. Dhoni finished the game with 28 off 13 balls with 3 four and one six at a strike rate of 215.38. With Chennai's victory, Mumbai became the first team in the 2022 IPL to taste defeat seven times at the start of the season. The defeat made Mumbai almost eliminated from the race for the playoffs in the IPL this season.

On the first hit, MI batsman Tilak Varma made it to an incredible half-century. He strengthened the Indians' 150-run score over CSK. Varma took the opportunity brilliantly and played a bold hit. Despite losing the wickets early on, the Indians managed to record 155/7 in 20 overs.

After receiving an attack from CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja, the Indians were struck by four wickets with the cooperation of Mukesh Choudhary and Mitchell Santner. Choudhary managed to deliver a brilliant opener to limit the Mumbai team to 155 onboard. Because previously there was an extraordinary half-century from Varma.

Despite the defeat, the Indians seemed to be in control of the game for most of the second half. The players made some good hits to keep the pressure on the hit line. Meanwhile, MI bowler Jaydev Unadkat conceded in the last round to make the Indians succumb to their seventh IPL defeat this season.

MS Dhoni's performance left fans in awe of his ability as a finisher as he played an incredible 13-ball 28. Because of that hit, he won the game for the Super Kings on the last delivery of the game against the Indians. Even though he is in his 40s, he has once again succeeded in proving that age is only a number. The Team India captain is proven to still be able to perform optimally on the field and his performance is better than the younger players.

After winning the match over MI, Dhoni was seen talking to young player Hrithik Shokeen. Shokeen managed to impress in his debut.

Meanwhile, CSK captain Jadeja saluted Dhoni for his skill in finishing the match superbly.

The Chennai Super Kings fans see this as a moment to be grateful for because previously they had felt discouraged by the losses suffered by the Super Kings in the previous few matches. This time, the fans saw their favorite team able to impress and managed to do well.
