The 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 26. Over the course of two months, up to ten teams will compete for ultimate glory, with the final slated to take place on May 29. The BCCI revealed the schedule for the much-anticipated event and the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will meet the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the first match.
The matches will be played in a revised format this year, with the BCCI abandoning the conventional pattern of each team facing the other twice in the league stage. The ten teams are grouped into two groups, A and B, depending on the number of championships won and finals played.

As previously announced, all IPL 2022 league matches will be played at four venues: three in Mumbai and one in Pune. Wankhede and DY Patil Stadiums will each host 20 games, while Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and MCA Stadium in Pune will each host 15 games.
According to the schedule, the first double-header of the season will be held on March 27. This season, there will be a lot more double-header days, since the number of games has increased due to the arrival of two new clubs. The Maharashtra government has also agreed to allow 25% spectators for all the league matches during the IPL. The location of the playoffs has yet to be determined.
